DSTV PREMIERSHIP MATCH PREVIEW: KAIZER CHIEFS VS CAPE TOWN CITY

Kaizer Chiefs have drastically improved lately and will take on Cape Town City who look to turn things around as they haven’t been getting the desired results despite some good performances.

Amakhosi have been in a long-drawn-out rough patch over the last couple of seasons but Stuart Baxter is resolute in his desire to reverse their fortunes.

Agay not delivering and Baccus’ return

Frankly, the Glamour Boys still need to fix their midfield as they have been unable to control possession as much as they should. In their last game, Akumu Agay started as a defensive midfielder and didn’t offer much in the passing game. Perhaps, he should make way for the box-to-box midfielder, Cole Alexander.

In the same game, the deep-lying playmaker Kearyn Baccus had his first start this season and elevated the team’s offense. He provided a link to forwards Khama Billiat, Benard Parker, and Keagan Dolly.

Dolly-Billiat partnership

Dolly’s arrival at Chiefs this season has propelled their attack and brought Billiat to life again. Their connection goes way back to Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns before they reunited at Chiefs.

Dolly has scored six goals and provided 4 assists while Billiat has 5 goals and 5 assists in all competitions this season.

The Stubborn City

You can never write them off until the final whistle, they’re aggressive and don’t sit at the back. Their creative ball player Bradley Ralani is behind their dangerous attack and can utilize small spaces entering the box.

The in-form Mdantsane

Adding spark to City’s attack is the in-form attacking midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane who’s been consistent for quite some time.

The former Baroka FC captain has scored 6 goals this season in all competitions and links well with the Citizens’ center attacker Thabo Nodada.

Tinkler settling at CT City

Eric Tinkler’s style of play has been well absorbed by the players. Although they haven’t been getting the desired results, they’re on the right track.

It doesn’t matter whether or not they’re clashing with the so-called big teams, Tinkler’s men always rotate the ball calmly.
