The Amakhosi will go in search of a victory away from their kraal against Golden Arrows who drew their last game with Baroka FC. Kaizer Chiefs dropped two points in their last DSTV Premiership match when they drew 0-0 with TS Galaxy are sitting 11th on the table with 4 points while Arrows are 5th with 5 points.
The Soweto giants have only managed to score one goal in three league games. This is because their main assist provider, Lebogang Manyama, is totally off form while the rest of the Chiefs midfield has completely lacked imagination. The absence of injured Samir Nurkovic is another reason the team are short of goals. We think manager Gavin Hunt should bring in Siphelele Ntshangase who is a great passer of the ball and may add that creative spark that is missing in the team.
Ndwandwe and Makhubela on form
Golden Arrows have had less of a problem in front of goal but have not exactly been explosive either – 5 goals in their three games. They do have a ruthless forward in Velemseni Ndwandwe and in-form Ntsako Makhubela who have been making them tick. Abafana Besthende though come into this match with some degree of confidence, being unbeaten so far this season. I see them making life difficult for a Kaizer Chiefs team who are trying to find form and get back to winning ways.
Suspension issues for both teams
Golden Arrows coach Mandla Ncikazi has some defensive headaches to deal with as they will be without the services of Devine Lunga who got a red card in their last game. Fortunately for them Chiefs’ tame attack is unlikely to cause their defence too many problems.
Chiefs have similar suspension issues with Erick Mathoho out after also picking up a red card forcing some kind of reshuffle of the Glamour Boys’ defence. On the plus side, the return of Keletso Sifama from injury should improve the attacking options for Hunt.
Chiefs are under so much pressure for a result and given Arrows’ confidence, I see this one ending in a stalemate.
